To go to Sawgrass you will spend a lot of time traveling and a lot of time walking. It is huge and exhausting and because it is an outlet mall, not always (IMO) the most successful place to shop. From South Beach, if I wanted to go to a bargain mall I would probably choose Dolphin Mall west of the airport. There is a 15 shuttle from Miami Beach.

Having been to both malls recently I do have to confirm that Sawgrass Mills is a notch above the Dolphin Mall.. Another nice mall in the greater Miami area is the Aventura Mall which I think can also be reached by Bus from Miami.
Expect prices to be high on Lincoln Rd. Dolphin Mall will have lower prices than Aventura on average. Another mall you should consider is Sawgrass Mills.. Re. getting there from SoBe, Aventura is the easiest, use the direct S (119) bus that run up and down Collins Ave ( pp).
